How to Produce PVC Plastic Pipes
The production process of PVC plastic pipes (polyvinyl chloride pipe) involves multiple steps, mainly including raw material preparation, mixing system, PVC pipe extruder, cooling and shaping, cutting and inspection packaging.
The following is the detailed process of PVC pipe production:
1. Raw material preparation
The main raw material of PVC pipe is polyvinyl chloride resin (PVC resin), and some auxiliary materials such as stabilizers, plasticizers, lubricants, fillers and colorants need to be added. The proportion and quality of these raw materials directly affect the performance of the final product.
2. Raw material mixing
PVC resin and various additives are added to a high-speed mixer in a certain proportion for mixing. During the mixing process, the materials will be heated and fully stirred to ensure that the components are evenly distributed. The mixed materials are usually called “dry mix”.
3. Extrusion molding
The mixed dry mix is fed into the PVC pipe extruder through a conveying device. The PVC pipe extrusion machine is the core equipment for PVC pipe production, mainly composed of a screw and a barrel. After the material is heated, melted, compressed and plasticized in the extruder, it is extruded through a mold.
4. Cooling and shaping
The PVC pipe extruded from the mold has a high temperature and needs to be cooled and shaped by a cooling and shaping device. Common cooling methods include water cooling and air cooling.
5. Cutting
The PVC pipe after cooling and shaping is cut according to the required length. The cutting equipment usually uses an automatic cutting machine, which can accurately control the length of the PVC pipe.
6. Inspection and packaging
The cut PVC pipe needs to be inspected for quality, including appearance inspection, size measurement, pressure test, etc. Qualified products will be labeled and packaged.
